Landscape

We design landscape as a continuation of the architecture rather than a decorative afterthought. Hardscape, planting, water, shade, and lighting are planned together to make outdoor space usable in the Riyadh climate — from the public realm of compounds and developments to enclosed private gardens. Species selection and irrigation are chosen for resilience and low water demand, grounding each project in its setting.

How we work

Landscape design begins with shade, microclimate, and movement: where people will sit, walk, and gather, and how to make those places tolerable through a long, hot summer. We model sun and shadow across the day to position pergolas, tree canopy, and built shade, and we grade levels so that drainage, accessibility, and the architecture read as one continuous ground plane.

Planting is selected for the arid Riyadh climate, favouring native and adapted species that withstand heat and salinity while keeping water demand low. We pair this with efficient drip irrigation, soil and mulch strategies, and where appropriate treated-water and smart controllers, so gardens remain healthy without excessive consumption across the public realm of compounds, developments, and private palaces.

Hardscape, water features, planting, and lighting are detailed together and coordinated with civil and electrical works, so falls, sleeves, conduits, and footings are set before paving and soft works begin. The result is exterior space that extends the building, performs in the climate, and is realistic to maintain.

Capabilities

Where the detail lives

01
Hardscape design
Paving, walls, steps, and shade structures detailed with levels, falls, and drainage resolved.
02
Planting strategy
Native and adapted species selected for heat tolerance, low water use, and seasonal interest.
03
Irrigation design
Efficient drip and smart-controller systems sized to minimise water consumption in an arid climate.
04
Water features
Pools, fountains, and water elements designed for cooling effect, safety, and serviceability.
05
Landscape lighting
Path, feature, and amenity lighting coordinated with the electrical design and planting layout.
06
Public realm
Shaded gathering and circulation space for compounds, developments, and mixed-use settings.
