Cost Estimation

Sound decisions depend on knowing what a design will cost. We build estimates that span supply, installation, and operation, refining them from early concept budgets to detailed pre-tender figures as the design develops. By testing options and flagging cost drivers as they emerge, we help clients steer scope and specification with confidence and avoid surprises between concept and handover.

(08)Overview

How we work

We produce cost advice that matures with the design — from order-of-magnitude budgets at concept, through elemental cost plans as the scheme develops, to detailed measured estimates before tender. Rates are built up from current Saudi market prices for labour, material, and plant, so the figures reflect real conditions rather than dated benchmarks, and each estimate carries clearly stated allowances, exclusions, and contingencies.

As options emerge we run value-engineering exercises, comparing structural systems, façade build-ups, and finishes on both capital and life-cycle cost so the client can trade specification against budget on evidence. Flagging cost drivers early — long-lead items, imported materials, abnormal ground — lets scope decisions be made while they are still inexpensive to change.

Through delivery we test tender returns against our estimate, advise on the most economical compliant bid, and maintain cost reporting and cash-flow forecasts so the budget is steered, not merely observed. The aim is predictability from concept to handover, with no surprises buried in the detail.

Capabilities

Where the detail lives

01
Concept budgeting
Early order-of-magnitude estimates that set a realistic budget before the design is fixed.
02
Elemental cost planning
Cost plans broken down by element to steer design decisions as the scheme develops.
03
Detailed estimating
Measured, rate-built estimates of supply and installation for pre-tender budget confidence.
04
Value engineering
Comparison of systems and specifications on capital and running cost to optimise value.
05
Life-cycle costing
Whole-life cost analysis weighing capital outlay against operation, maintenance, and replacement.
06
Cash-flow forecasting
Expenditure forecasts and cost reporting that keep the budget under active control.
