A Riyadh private villa interior resolved through a controlled palette of white marble, warm timber, and brass — quiet luxury held together by material precision rather than ornament.

About this project
The design organises the main living floor as a sequence of open zones — sitting, dining, and kitchen — unified by a consistent material language of large-format pale stone flooring, white veined-marble wall cladding, and vertical timber-slat panels. Bronze and brass hardware runs through furniture, lighting fixtures, and decorative objects, providing tonal warmth without disrupting the overall restraint. Ceiling-mounted linear track rails, cove lighting, and pendant clusters allow the lighting to be tuned across different parts of the day and different social configurations.
In Riyadh's extreme climate, where windows must be managed against intense solar gain, the interior turns inward. Heavy layered curtaining on the villa's glazed openings — sheer voile backed by full-length fabric panels — controls heat and glare while maintaining a sense of diffused natural light. The enclosed quality this creates is addressed through the layered artificial lighting scheme and the reflective surfaces of the marble and polished floor tiles, which distribute light across the volume without relying on direct exposure.
Pioneer Landmarks was responsible for the full interior design and construction of the villa. The studio developed the spatial arrangement, material specification, joinery design — including the marble media wall with integrated back-lit display niches and the kitchen island with fluted base panelling — and coordinated delivery through to completion on site.
