About this project
The proposed compound is organised as a cluster of low-rise pavilion blocks — predominantly single storey with pitched hip roofs in a dark slate finish — arranged symmetrically around a hierarchy of enclosed courtyards. An arcaded gallery with repeated pointed arches runs through the centre of the composition, creating a covered passage between wings. Each courtyard contains a pool and dense palm planting, drawing the landscape into the heart of the building.

The inward-facing layout responds directly to Riyadh's climate and the regional tradition of courtyard residential architecture. The predominantly white rendered façades and deep-shaded arcades limit direct solar exposure while the planted courtyards moderate the microclimate across the compound. The massing steps back from the perimeter road behind a belt of palms and paved arrival courts, establishing a clear threshold between public street and private residence.

Pioneer Landmarks contributed as architectural consultant at the conceptual design stage, developing the compound's massing strategy, courtyard sequence, and façade language. The studio's scope centred on establishing the organisational logic and formal character of the proposal — a multi-wing palace arrangement that accommodates an extended residential programme within a coherent, inward-oriented ensemble.
